But God.

BUT GOD.

Two words. The best two words in the whole Bible.

Everything before them in Ephesians 2 is bad news. Dead in sin. Following the world. Children of wrath, like everybody else. No pulse, no hope, no way to fix it.

Then Paul writes two words that change everything.

"But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ." (Ephesians 2:4-5)

Not "but you tried harder." Not "but you finally got serious." But God. He is the one who moved. He is the one who is rich in mercy. He is the one who made you alive.

Start your morning there. Before the email, before the to-do list, before the day tells you who you are, let this mug tell you what God did.

Set it on your desk. Carry it into the break room. Somebody is going to ask what it means. Now you get to tell them about grace.
